கார்த்திகை விளக்கீடு என்பது கார்த்திகை மாதத்தில் வரும் பெளர்ணமி திதியும், கார்த்திகை நட்சத்திரமும் கூடிய திருக்கார்த்திகை நாளில் கோயில்களிலும், வீடுகளிலும் இடம் பெறும் சிறப்பான தீபத் திருவிழாவாகும்.

இத்திருநாளில் ஒட்டாவா சிவன் கோயிலில் “சர்வாலய தீபம்” – விசேட அபிஷேக பூசையும் அடியார்கள் சோதி வடிவாக சிவபெருமானை தொழுது அருள்பெற ஆயத்தங்களும் செய்யப்பட்டுள்ளன.

The Full Moon Day in Tamil Month “Karththikai”,

Special day on which Lord Siva appeared as bright light (“Jothi”) to Bramma & Vishnu who searched for the top and Bottom of Lord Siva. Since then, devotees pray to Lord Siva in light form on this day by lighting series of lamps in their homes and Temples. On this auspicious day, “Vilakeedu – Sarvaalaya Theepam” is celebrated in Ottawa Sivan Temple in the evening according to agenda given below.

Devotees are kindly requested to attend temple on this auspicious day and get blessed by God Vaithiyanatha Swamy and Ambal Thaiyalnayaki.
