Lord Murugan, also known as Subramanian and Kartikeyan, is enshrined in an altar to the left of Lord Siva. He is the second son of Lord Siva and is revered as the commander-in-chief of the divine army. Lord Murugan is a primary deity worshipped by Tamils worldwide. The form of Murugan in the temple is known as Selva Muthukumara Swamy.
