மாலை 6.30 மணிமுதல் விசேட அபிஷேக பூசையுடன் “அபிராமி அந்தாதி” பாடல்கள் பாடப்படும். இந்த விசேட புனித நன்நாளில் அம்பாளைத் தொழுதால் சகல செளபாக்கியங்களும் நல்குவாள்.

அபிராமிப் பட்டரின் வரலாறு
அபிராமி பட்டர் தேவி அபிராமி அம்பாளின் நினைவில் மூழ்கி மகிழ்ச்சியோடு இருந்தார். ஒருவர் இவரிடம் இன்றையநாள் எதுவாகும்? எனக் கேட்டார். அன்று அமாவாசை என்பது தெரியாமல் அன்று பெளர்ணமி என அபிராமி பட்டர் கூறினார். இதைக் கேட்டு எல்லோரும் சிரித்தனர். கோயிலுக்கு வந்த அரசன் இதைப் பார்த்து பட்டரிடம் விசாரிக்க அவர் மனக் கண்ணில் அபிராமி சோதி வடிவினளாகத் தெரிவதால் அன்று பெளர்ணமி எனவே கூறினார். கோபங் கொண்ட அரசன் இவர் கூறுவதுபோல் இன்று பெளர்ணமி என இவர் நிரூபிக்காது போனால் இவரை உயிரோடு நெருப்பில் இட உத்தரவிட்டான்.
பட்டரை 100 கயிற்றுத் துண்டுகளால் கட்டித் தூங்கும் மேடையில் ஏற்றி கீழே நெருப்பு வைத்தார்கள். பட்டர் அபிராமியிடம் முறையிட்டார். அம்பாளே உன்னாலேயே எனக்கு இந்த நிலை ஏற்பட்டது. இன்றைய பொழுதை பெளர்ணமியாக்கி என்னைக் காப்பாற்று என முறையிட்டார். அபிராமி மேல் 100 பாடல்கள் பாடினார். ஒவ்வொரு பாடல்களின் முடிவும் அடுத்த பாட்டின் தொடக்கமாக 100 தெய்வீகமான தமிழ் பாடல்கள் அபிராமியின் அருளால் ஒரு இரவில் பாடினார். ஒவ்வொரு பாடல் முடியும்போது ஒரு கயிறை வெட்டினார்கள்.
65-70 பாடல்கள் பாடும்போது அம்பாள் அபிராமி பட்டர் முன் தோன்றிக் காட்சி கொடுத்து தனது காதில் உள்ள குண்டலங்களில் ஒன்றைக் கழட்டி வானில் எறிந்தாள். அது பூரண சந்திரனாக வானில் எல்லோருக்கும் காட்சி கொடுத்தது. அரசனோடு எல்லோரும் அம்பாளை வணங்கினர். அரசன் அபிராமிப் பட்டரிடம் மன்னிப்புக் கோரினான்.

Following is a brief account of the Abirami Pattar Purana:
Abirami Pattar was enjoying with his immersed thoughts about the praise of the Goddess Abirami. Someone approached him and asked him what the day it was. Without realizing the actual day as a New Moon Day, Abirami Pattar mentioned to others that the day was a Full Moon Day. Every one laughed at him. He was brought before the King. When King repeated the question, he still replied the same answer as Full Moon day. The King went angry and ordered to burn him alive if his words (i.e., Full Moon Day) fail.
He was put to test from a hanging platform with lots of fire underneath. Abirami Pattar realized his statement and put the blame on Goddess. He said to her that I made this mistake only because of you as I was immersed in your thoughts. He started singing
about the Goddess Abiraami in 100 slokas, so beautifully sung. The songs come under a class of Tamil poetry called “Andhaathi”. This means, the next poem should start with the ending from the previous one. One should be able to appreciate the talents and God’s grace in Abiraami Pattar to sing all the 100 songs in one night.
The end of the story goes like this: Goddess Abirami pleased and appeared (kaadshi) before him and thrown her ear-ring (kundalam) in to the sky which enlightened the whole sky like a full bright moon (This event happened when he was singing songs around 65-70). Everyone worshiped the Goddess and her majestic powers. The king requested his apologies to Abiraami Pattar.
