On the 11th day evening of the annual Festival, Thirukalyaanam of Ambal to Sivan is performed in Poogaavam – Flower Garden specially created for Ambal’s wedding. Priests and devotees act as parents of Lord Sivan and Ambal and go through all procedures of a Saiva Wedding. After Lord Siva tie the Thali on the neck of Ambal and exchanging flower garlands the couple sit on oonjal – swing and go on swinging for the Oonjal poems sung by Manikavasagar Swamikal. At this time sweets are served to devotees and on completiom of Poojah Sivan and Ambal sits on Nanthi Vahanam and go on procession to around the outer court of Temple and return to Vasantha Mandapam.
